Dawn  Ragan

Dawn Ragan has over 25 years of experience in financial advisory, turnaround management, and corporate finance. She is skilled in quickly assessing complex situations, developing effective operational and financial restructuring solutions, and managing multiple adverse constituencies.

Dawn’s engagements have included assets and operations in China, Japan, Europe, Australia, Argentina, Mexico, Canada, and the United States. She has served clients in a variety of leadership roles including Chief Restructuring Officer, Chief Financial Officer, Plan Agent, Trustee, and Financial Advisor and has provided expert witness testimony and litigation support.

Prior to her consulting career, Dawn spent several years in investment banking and was a real estate portfolio asset manager. Dawn has served as a speaker on several national panels and is an active member of the restructuring community holding memberships with ABI, TMA, AIRA, and IWIRC.

Representative Experience
  • Financial advisor to consumer products companies with foreign suppliers experiencing major market disruption, and litigation.  Evaluated business plans, loan collateral, and analyzed data to assess product efficiency and margins.  Worked with management team to identify financial and operational improvements and manage creditor and supplier relationships. Negotiated over $1B of claims with creditors and landlords, and wind-down of certain businesses. Restructured debt. Sold certain assets.

  • Financial advisor to $2B live events and media company experiencing financial distress due to COVID-19.  Negotiated significant landlord relief in multiple countries.

  • CRO/Trustee of Methodist-affiliated non-profit college, managing complex issues and litigation with the DOE, regional accrediting body, state attorneys general, foundations, restricted gifts and endowments, political relationships, and eventual shutdown/sale of the college. Recovered against D&O policy and accounting malpractice.

  • CRO and financial advisor in multiple Chapter 11 proceedings. Provided extensive expert and fact testimony. Assisted debtors in the development and confirmation of proposed and contested restructuring plans.

  • Financial advisor to Chapter 11 trustee of three debtors involved in a $2B fraud. Converted debtor to a legitimate enterprise, projecting returns of $.90 on invested capital. Engagement awarded multiple Turnaround of the Year awards in 2017.
