Marc Patterson

Representative Experience

• Served as interim President of Brazil Operations for a venture capital portfolio company focused on biotechnology and renewable products utilizing glucose from sugar cane and genetically modified yeast; engagement included root cause analysis (RCA) to minimize / eliminate contamination followed by developing / managing a project plan to execute a two-week plant shutdown to perform turnaround maintenance and implement countermeasures to correct root cause(s) of contamination.
• Performed a three-week assessment of a venture capital portfolio company focused on a renewable product utilizing residual biomass from the timber and pulp industry. Analyzed end-to-end manufacturing processes, reviewed and revised income statements, and developed an operating model to perform scenario and breakeven analysis.
• Performed an assessment for an animal nutrition company focused on a renewable product using residual biomass from ethane production, distillers dried grains (DDGs). Performed both an operational and financial assessment which included analysis of end-to-end manufacturing processes, review and revision of income statements, and development of an operating model to perform scenario and breakeven analysis.
• Served as interim Chief Operating Officer for a soybean crush plant. Developed an operating model to perform scenario and breakeven analysis; developed subsequent operations improvements to drive plant throughput to breakeven in preparation for a sale at auction. Recipient of the “Mid-Size Company Turnaround/Transaction” Award from the 2023 TMA Turnaround and Transaction of the Year Awards.
• Served as de-facto Vice President of Operations for a $300MM food manufacturer. Improved fulfillment rate from 83% to 100% within 30 days by implementing a prioritized packing list (pull system) based on customer order data and further integrating pull system through production to procurement.
