Colby began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Houston, Texas, working with companies in the energy, utilities, manufacturing, and chemicals industries. He holds an active Certified Public Accountant license in the State of California.
Representative Experience
- Member of interim management team for a $100MM+ proton therapy (radiation oncology) cancer center. Responsible for cash and liquidity management and oversaw all financial budgeting, reporting, and FP&A activities. Helped stabilize operations after company emerged from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. Served as the only on-site management team member while navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Financial advisor to the Board of Trustees of a $10B hospital system. Performed thorough financial review of all hospital locations and services. Delivered report of findings in connection with covenant defaults for nearly $3B in total bonds outstanding.
- Advisor to senior bondholders of a healthcare facility financed by a $350MM+ municipal bond issuance. Performed financial and operational assessment and reported findings and recommendations to bondholder group. Subsequently hired in advisory capacity to work with debtor on implementing recommendations and later retained as interim management.
- Financial advisor to trustee and bondholders of a cancer treatment facility following several covenant defaults and non-payment events on $80MM+ in bonds outstanding.
- Led and assisted in negotiating various partnerships and arrangements between healthcare facilities and university systems for multiple clients.
