Chase Blatz is a restructuring and turnaround professional with a background in commercial banking and Big 4 consulting. He has advised distressed companies and their stakeholders through complex restructuring situations, including Chapter 11 preparations, financial modeling, liquidation analyses, and lender presentations. Chase's experience spans financial and operational assessments, scenario-driven modeling for bank group negotiations, cash management, and cost reduction initiatives.

Prior to CR3, Chase underwrote syndicated credit facilities and structured covenant relief packages for upper middle market companies. He has partnered with relationship managers, credit underwriting teams, and C-suite executives to develop tailored financial solutions, giving him a deep understanding of both borrower and lender perspectives in distressed situations.

Representative Experience
  • Developed a four-wall EBITDA model across 19 store locations for a multi-unit restaurant operator, incorporating scenario analysis to quantify EBITDA impact from underperforming store closures. Assessed cost saving initiatives and built project roadmaps to support execution. Prepared WARN analysis and assisted with first day motions in preparation for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
  • Conducted a liquidation analysis for a healthcare distribution company, evaluating recoverability of AR and inventory. Built a wind-down budget and assisted with the presentation for the bank group, including formal responses to lender inquiries. Managed daily cash by monitoring working capital, sales, and expenses to assess revolver availability.
  • Built a scenario analysis model for a specialty chemicals company that fed assumption-driven restructuring proposals into amortization tables, cash flow projections, and debt analyses for weekly bank group presentations. Separately developed a cost/benefit and profitability model to evaluate rejection of a cogeneration facility, including on-site facility tours and management interviews.
  • Performed a financial and operational assessment of a lawn mower manufacturer, including analysis of the company’s 13-week cash flow, EBITDA and revenue bridges, SKU-level margin analysis, and inventory composition. Compiled findings into an assessment deck for the bank group.
  • Prepared a DIP budget and first day bankruptcy motions for a packaging company entering Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
