Alex Boerema is an accomplished restructuring professional working with distressed and under-performing companies. He is skilled in assisting clients manage unique crisis management situations. Alex’s experience includes financial management and operational advisory services, contingency planning, interim management, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic growth initiatives. 

Alex has extensive experience in corporate and external stakeholder advisory, business plan development, cash flow forecasting and variance analysis, integrated financial modeling analysis, market strategy analysis, and corporate restructurings. Alex’s roles in interim management engagements include CFO, Controller, FP&A and Direct of Finance. Alex has provided financial management services to the Chicago/Midwest Turnaround Management Association Chapter improving the budgeting as Treasurer.

  • Interim CFO/Controller for a $150MM metal fabrication and distribution company where he prepared daily borrowing base certificates to secured lenders and provided weekly and monthly accounting and month-end journal entries.

  • Financial advisor to a $300MM national fast-casual restaurant chain where he prepared the DIP and post-emergence liquidity forecasts, external key stakeholder reports, developed internal training for periodic liquidity forecasting and related variance reporting, and assisted the company in determining feasibility of the company’s going-concern operations.

  • Interim Deputy CFO for a $80MM fabrication and manufacturer where he managed the accounting and finance teams, prepared liquidity/collateral reports to stakeholders, managed accounts payable procedures, and developed monthly P&L budget to actual forecasting and reporting procedures.

  • Interim Director of Finance for a multi-line boat manufacturer, with $220MM in annual revenue where he managed the accounting and finance teams, prepared weekly liquidity forecasting and variance reports, prepared annual operating plans, monthly P&L budget to actual reporting, and developed accounting close metrics and procedures.

  • Financial advisor to an $1B independent beverage and food distributor, where he directed and developed an integrated operating plan and long-term strategic plan, managed internal team tasked with development of monthly P&L reporting, and provided assistance with debt negotiations with the secured lenders.
