Steve Bentson is a performance driven leader who excels in bringing about positive and sustainable change in improving the performance of legacy and newly acquired businesses.  He has over 25 years of leadership experience as a VP of Operations, Chief Operations Officer (COO), President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a Consultant of well-recognized manufacturing companies, utilizing process change and organizational change to achieve results in numerous areas and industries. Mr. Bentson has extensive experience in business turnarounds, acquisitions, integration, improving operational performance, pipeline development and market growth of a business.

Notable engagements include:

  • Interim Operations leader of a $30million manufacturer who sells large plastic mats for turf protection and temporary road construction.  Brought operation to a new, much higher level of performance.  Implemented initiatives in safety and 5S (developed KPIs, daily Gemba walk; new Quality system; multiple Lean teams & communication.
  • Interim COO of a $25million manufacturer who sells products into the building products industry.  Brought leadership & positive change to the operations.
  • CEO of a $12million newly acquired design and manufacturing company that sells into in the industrial sealing industry.  Created operational scalability and pipeline growth.
  • Senior Consultant for a $100million fireplace and barbecue grill manufacturer who sells into both industrial and retail markets.  Responsible for supply chain, operations, and engineering over a three year period.  Integrated the manufacturing of barbecue grills into the Kentucky and Vermont locations from China in order to sell to Costco.
  • President of a $500million manufacturer of various retail and industrial products (compressors, portable generators) sold through big box stores and industrial channels. Initial priority of the new $500million acquisition was sister company brand utilization and supply chain integration.
  • President of a $100million manufacturer of automotive equipment sold through retail automotive and industrial channels. Doubled revenue, including the acquisition of two $10million companies.
  • COO of a $400million trailer business that has three business units/brands and ten manufacturing locations. It sells through a US-wide dealer network. Primary responsibilities were to improve operational performance and guide growth for each of the business units. This included the integration of the $200 million Featherlite acquisition.
  • VP of Operations/GM Extruded Products of a $450million ladder manufacturing company.  Closed three of five plants and successfully built and grew new operation in Mexico.
  • VP of Operations of a $300million power tool company that grew from $100 million in five years.  Implemented cellular manufacturing to provide the scalability.
