With 30+ years of experience in business consulting, corporate management and restructuring, Greg Baracato has substantial expertise in rendering financial advisory and reorganization services on behalf of varied stakeholders in the restructuring and turnaround arena. His U.S. and international industry experience includes evaluation of operations, developing reserve based borrowing capacity models, public offerings converting debt to equity, bank group negotiations and cost reduction initiatives.

Select engagements include:

  • CRO to ValuePart an industrial parts distributor resulting in an award-winning, successful Chapter 11 reorganization.
  • Interim CFO to Holze Music, the 35th largest music retailer in the US. Assistance included turning around the operations, implemented new accounting processes and procedures and transitioned to a new financial team. In addition to retailing musical instruments, the company’s primary asset was a portfolio of musical rental instruments to school bands and students.
  • Interim CFO to Capital Associates International, a public company that leased industrial equipment and funded the leases with a series of public and private income funds. Assistance included delisting of the company and taking the company private.
  • CRO of a $200 million industrial products distribution company in San Antonio Texas. Assistance included managing the company in a troubled situation, stabilizing and restructuring the operations in order to cure technical defaults on the bank loan. He assisted the investment bank in finding a purchaser resulting in the sale of the company to a private equity sponsored strategic company and preserving the jobs for a substantial majority of the employees.
  • Restructuring Advisor to a troubled foodservice distributor that was in default on its bank loan and over advanced in excess of $1 million. Interfaced with bank group in setting up a phased workout plan that included winding down certain operations, headcount reductions and implementing a benchmarking process.
  • Administrated the wind-down and liquidation of a bankrupt electric power generation company. Paying creditors in full with interest.
  • Prepared expert reports that included assisting an Argentinian energy company that resulted in winning an International Arbitration Award against the government of Turkmenistan in excess of $2 billion.

Mr. Baracato was the past president of the Dallas Turnaround Management Association (TMA) and is a Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP) and Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA).
