With almost 20 years’ experience working to stabilize companies during periods of change and uncertainty, Mr. Flannery specializes in corporate turnaround, restructuring, performance improvement and strategy. Mr. Flannery has extensive global experience and has successfully operated companies in numerous countries with diverse cultures and legal systems across a wide spectrum of industries.

In numerous interim executive and consulting roles, Mr. Flannery has developed and executed strategies to drive companies through significant change. He can quickly analyze complex situations and triage into manageable projects to rapidly deliver value. Doug leverages his experience to identify root causes of under-performance and implement solutions. His hands on approach and collaboration with management have consistently transferred these capabilities to clients to sustain results. Previously, Mr. Flannery has been a director for a series of turnaround and insolvency firms, both domestic and international, and as a strategy consultant for a E&Y in Asia.

His engagements include, among others:

  • Interim CEO for $120 million Coal Services company. Stabilized operations during a successful orderly sale process.
  • CRO for a $525 million Aluminum manufacturer and distributor. Reduced daily break-even from sales of 280 to 160 tones of product.
  • CRO for a $400 million South American Nickel mine. Successfully transitioned mine to care & maintenance in a depressed market preparing for sale process.
  • COO for a $36 million freight division. Developed and executed 100 day turnaround plan decreasing cash burn rate by ~$2mm per annum.
  • CRO of a ~$100 million luxury goods retailer. Returned business to cash flow positive operations following CEO removal after years of losses.
  • CRO and board member for a natural gas developer with a ~200 BCF field. Restructured trade debt and refinanced to allow restart of operations.
  • Assistant CRO for CompUSA, ~$3 billion electronics retailer. Helped wind-up operations and liquidation of assets.
  • CRO of a $120mm contract cleaning business. Managed daily cash, created controls of labor and materials, improved time keeping to reduce waste and fraud.
  • Assistant CRO for a $120 million consumer goods manufacturer. Restructured along functional lines reducing costs by 30% in 3 months.
