Carmen Barrett is a seasoned financial and operational leader with more than 25 years of experience working with publicly traded and privately held companies across a variety of industries. Carmen provides companies with her wealth of expertise related to liquidity management, restructuring, and financial analysis to support operational improvements.

Prior to joining CR3 Partners, Carmen served as Chief Financial Officer of a privately held telecommunications services firm where she was responsible for accounting, financial planning & analysis, risk management, benefits administration and management, as well as cash management.  Her advisory experience also includes working directly with a variety of companies providing financial and strategic advisory services.

Representative Experience

  • Financial advisor to CRO of $136MM global entertainment retailer and franchisor with 45 units. Responsible for assessment and oversight of liquidity requirements. Identified excess overseas working capital used to improve U.S.-based liquidity until sale of company.
  • Conducted rent reduction and abatement negotiations with landlords for events management business. Negotiations resulted in millions of dollars in short- and long-term savings.
  • Financial advisor to $700MM national distributor of pet-related products preparing detailed operational and financial assessment in support of financial restructuring and ownership change. Responsible for detailed analysis of annual operating plan and cash flow forecast to identify potential weaknesses and recommend best practices.
  • Financial advisor to 200-unit quick service restaurant chain. Conducted in-depth sensitivity analyses of future P&L, cash flow and covenant performance, and created improved cash flow forecasting processes. Successfully renegotiated credit agreement while company was undergoing insolvency proceedings.
  • Financial advisor to $16MM telecommunications services firm managing financial relationships through credit default and liquidity crisis. Led successful efforts to secure refinancing with alternate capital sources. Developed liquidity management tools and drove liquidity improvements to stabilize the company’s cash situation.  Drove operational improvements through financial reporting and analysis services.
  • Led financial restructuring efforts for $45MM firm to fund partner buy-out and working capital.
  • Financial advisor to artisan pottery manufacturer. Developed strategic analysis to drive operational improvements and to support ultimate sale of business.
